10 tips to maintain good oral health

Visit a dentist at least once a year for a check-up.

Brush your teeth at least twice a day

Brush your teeth at least twice a day for 2 minutes with a fluoride toothpaste.
It is very important to always brush the teeth before going to bed.
Brushing should last for about 2 minutes.

Clean the interdental spaces once a day

This procedure keeps your teeth and gum healthy and protects from “bad breath”.

After cleaning the teeth, brush the tongue to remove bacteria that cause bad breath or infections in the mouth and dentures.

If you wear dentures brush them at least twice a day.

If you wear dentures, rinse them with water after each meal, and brush them at least twice a day with a denture brush and a mild soap.
Use denture cleansing tablets at least three times a week.
Don’t forget to remove your dentures before bed.

Use appropriate toothpaste and fluoride mouthwash for everyday use

  • If you have several decayed teeth or suffer from dry mouth, your dentist will recommend an appropriate toothpaste and fluoride mouthwash for everyday use.
  • If you feel your mouth dry, chew sugarless gum with xylitol or xylitol-based candies. You can also use saliva substitutes.
